I turned on my xbox today and I loaded the new Netflix app hoping I will see a pop asking me to update. Why was I hoping this would happen? because that would give me the slight glimmer of hope that all the issues with this app have been fixed! My major gripe is that I am no longer able to start a Netflix party with my friends. Let me just say this Netflix instant streaming choices are not the creme de la creme of fine cinenma. If it wasn't for the television series available to watch there really wouldn't be a need to instant stream their movies at all. The one thing that made their instant stream movies even remotely watchable was being able to watch these B-movies in parties which gave Netflix and their crappy outdated selections of movies the breath of fresh air they needed.
Would I want to watch a movie as terribly horrible as "Basketcase" alone? Hell No! What is the fun in that? However, when I invited 6 of my friends in on this gem of a horror movie it became one of the best movies we had ever seen. Not just because of the shitty acting, the ridiculous script or even the most ridiculous death scenes ever filmed. No because of all the commentary that was taking place in the party. It's this short sighted vision that has made Netflix one of the most out of touch with their consumers company in the United States.
So if you are as disappointed about this as I am please take the time to sign the petition!
Then join the facebook group Xbox Kills Netflix and then maybe we can get this very cool feature put back on the app where it belongs!
