Xbox Live Dashboard Update is Here!

As promised, Microsoft today pushed out its fall Xbox 360 Dashboard update. The upgrade brings many of the features shown at E3, focusing most on the requisite Kinect controller support for games, video chat, and both gesture and voice commands in the UI itself. Other highlights bring live and on-demand ESPN3 sports events, Zune Pass music streaming and an overall more polished interface with particular attention to the Marketplaces and a new parental control center.

Call of Duty Black Ops Customization Update

Activision has released a brand new trailer for its soon to be record-breaker, Call of Duty: Black Ops. It shows off the various customization options available to players in the multiplayer mode,
and so far it's looking great. There are endless possiblities in this game.

With the currency system detailed in the video, it looks like the Call of Duty series is taking some serious strides forward and that's a great thing. I am really looking forward to this release.

Zack Snyder Will Direct the Next Superman Film!

It is official. Zack Snyder who directed the Dawn of the Dead remake, 300 (which was a huge box office smash) and Watchmen was picked by producers Christopher Nolan and David Goyer to direct the next Superman movie. His current project "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" is in theatres now and is doing fairly well.

The Green Hornet Trailer!

So I have seen the trailer for The Green Hornet and I have to say that even though my expectations were kinda low on this one I was pleasantly surprised. This movie might actually turn out to be rather entertaining. When I first heard Seth Rogen was cast to play Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher by day who goes out in his masked "Green Hornet" identity at night to fight crime as a vigilante , accompanied by his similarly masked Asian manservant Kato (played by Jay Chou) I thought to myself "YEAH RIGHT!!!"

10 Types of Xbox Live Gamers

If you’ve spent more than a day on Xbox Live, you would have come across a various array of gamers– regardless of the genre of the game. You will become frustrated for sure. Some were dropped in the gaming universe to be a permanent pain in your ass. So I have compiled a list of what you should expect to encounter from gamers on Xbox Live. Most of them are an annoyance but there is light at the end of the tunnel. So let's get started!

My first album review! Mark Ronson And The Business Intl: Record Collection

But if you took the time to read my blog description you would know that I also write about television shows, movies and MUSIC! I am a avid music listener that happens to enjoy music that spans musical genres. I even listen to music in languages I do not understand because I am one of those people that truly believes that music is universal. As long as I can feel it I will listen to it. So with that being said I am going to review Mark Ronson And The Business Intl: Record Collection.

Movie Review: Devil

Ok, so Friday night I decided to go check out the movie Devil with a couple of my friends despite the Shyamalan name being attached to this movie and I am actually happy I did because surprisingly Devil turned out to be a suspenseful, entertaining and at times quite frightening film. I can honestly say it is Shyamalan's best in a while! Who knew all he needed to do was not direct or write the movie himself but give someone else a concept let them write it and then find someone to direct the film. Why didn't he think of this soultion sooner?

Reasons You Should Watch "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"

One of my favorite television shows of all time is coming back this Thursday night September 16th for its 6th season. This show is no other than the cult favorite turned hit "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia". This gem that truly started picking up steam when Danny DeVito joined the cast in season 2 has been described as "Seinfeld on Crack" and I have to agree with that assessment. The premise is simple--four selfish, ignorant, and despicable friends run a bar in Philly. That's it! That sums up the whole show. Like Seinfeld, the enjoyment from It's Always Sunny comes from the characters' eccentricities, ethical deficiencies, and relationships with one another.  So I am giving you the reasons why you should tune into this show!

Brad Pitt Linked To Red Dead Redemption Movie

With video game to movie adaptations coming out of the wood work there is no surprise in hearing all the chatter about the hit Rockstar game Red Dead Redemption may be coming to a theatre near you. SPOILER ALERT!! Call Of Duty: Black Ops - Weapons, Perks, Killstreaks And More

Ok Sorry I have been gone for so long! I however come back bearing gifts. Spoilers for Call of Duty Black Ops. I am really looking forward to this game coming out and I am posting the latest in updates here! Activision held the very first hands-on event for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" multiplayer and someone was nice enough to managed to take down the massive list of every single unlockable that Treyarch showed at the multiplayer event. Every gun, every perk, every killstreak. So I am posting it here for you to take a look at. Any thoughts?

Comic Books That Should Be Television Shows!

Let's face it! I don't think there will be a summer where there is no big comic book adaptation being placed on our movie screens. There are all types of comic book properties being bought up like crack in New Jack City because they are lucrative if done right. Spiderman, Iron Man and Batman are some examples of a comic book hero coming to your screen and setting off a new blockbuster franchise that makes movie studios millions of dollars. Now I am a fan of the "super hero" genre of movies especially when they are done as exceptionally well. Christopher Nolan has proven it can be done with the genius that is "The Dark Knight". However, there are some comic books where the story would be best suited for the television medium. Sometimes you need to invest a little more time into the world and characters that are created to fully appreciate the story taking place and 1hr and 30 mins is just not gonna cut it. So here is my list for the comic books that should be television shows!

Here is this week's "Gamer of the Week! He is a NY native who plays guitar in a kick ass band known as "Nothing Near Sight". The New Call of Duty: Black Ops Trailer

So I got my first look of the new Call of Duty Black Ops trailer and I have to say I am officially EXCITED! There are a lot of new surprises in store and I for one can't wait because I am addicted to this series. However, I would like for them to handle the glitching issues before and during launch so we don't end up with the seemingly endless amount of cheaters we had for Modern Warfare 2.  So here are a few things to look forward to in the upcoming release.

Madden 2011 is finally here!

She was the very first person to receive her
copy because she was the first person in line
LUCKY!!!!

OK,  so I am just getting home from my local video game store from picking up my copy of Madden 2011 at 12am. I haven't cracked open my game just yet because I wanted to write this post. I did however manage to get a little game time in at the store for one half and I can honestly say that I think I am going to be comfortable with the changes that have been made to the game. There are a few things I have to get used to. For instance there is no turbo button on the default settings. I didn't realize this until after a couple of plays but before you know if you will completely forget all about the missing turbo. But all in all the game play looks fantastic. This year's Madden is most definitely geared towards the mainstream football fan by being less complex so to some this will be a welcomed change but to some of the hardcore Madden fans there may be a few complaints. But I don't think the bad outweigh the good here. So enjoy the game everybody. Looking forward to seeing you online.

Classic Movies That Should NEVER Be Remade!

Hollywood has a bad habit of rehashing old classics to disastrous results. We have Planet of The Apes, Psycho, The Longest Yard and who can forget the horrific epic fail that was Clash of the Titans. These are prime examples of "if it ain't broke don't try to fix it" motto. Remaking a film is not easy and should be avoided unless it is in the worthy hands of someone who understood why the original is a classic in the first place. There has to be a legitimate reason for an update. Plus the update needs to be adding something to the original without completely losing the essence of the original. I know it is hard to keep up but this is the criteria I have set for all the people thinking of remaking some of the classics we know and love. These films are called "CLASSICS" for a reason Mr. Hollywood Exec that thinks he is the next damn Ari Gold! So here is my list of the top films that SHOULD NEVER be remade! (in no particular order)

Gamer of The Week!

Say Hello To XxInC0gNgR0xX

This 16 year old New York Native gamer is known for having a venom laced tongue. That means he is no stranger to trash talking. Don't be too alarmed. So I chatted with the official first ever "Gamer of the Week" to learn a little more about him.

"Hand Held Controllers Obsolete in 3 years" says idiot boyfriend!

OK, so there are a lot of things my boyfriend and I do not agree on. What movies we should go see or what television show we should watch for the evening sometimes can be tricky. But nothing and I mean nothing has lead to more of a WWE styled showdown then the idiotic statement he made to me today! The man told me that "Hand held controllers will be obsolete in 3 years". Seriously how did you become my boyfriend making such stupid statements. So let's analyze this statement with some facts!

It's Official Kinect Will Retail For $150

The news might not be a surprise for most of you because speculated prices had been advertised on numerous retail websites since E3. Nevertheless, there were still some (small) surprises in Microsoft’s announcement. Kinect games will retail at $49.99, instead of the $59.99 more typical of Xbox 360 releases -- and the basic Kinect unit will come bundled with multiplayer outdoor game Kinect Adventures.

I want to see Quentin Tarantino's Natural Born Killers

I recently watched Natural Born Killers today. There was nothing on cable and the dvd was staring at me on the shelf so I popped it in to watch. Now this movie is one of my favorite films by Oliver Stone and I have always been entertained by the over the top characters Mickey and Mallory Knox. But I have to admit that I have always and still want to see Quentin Tarantino's original vision for this movie.

Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Coming in November

The Xbox 360 dashboard, the user interface for Microsoft's gaming console, looks like it may be getting a slight polish in November when the company launches their Xbox Live Gold Family plan. Microsoft confirms that the November Family Center update will include a "refreshed" Xbox Live dashboard. "Yes, the next Xbox LIVE update will include Family Center," said a Microsoft spokesperson. "As we discussed at E3 it will also include a refreshed Xbox LIVE dashboard, the new Kinect Hub and ESPN. This update will be available over LIVE just prior to Kinect for Xbox 360 being available in store in November. We have no additional details to share at this time."

GREEN LANTERN PRODUCERS WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to comment on the “first look” at Ryan ReynoldsGreen Lantern “costume,” on the cover of EW (magazines are still useful?!). This costume sucks Monkey Balls! Reynolds is not actually wearing a costume, rather the entire suit is CGI-ed onto his body. Who ever came up with this brilliant idea needs to be blackballed from Hollywood. I would not only think that having your entire costume CGI-ed to your body would be more expensive then actually wearing a costume made out of material but having your costume CGI-ed is just fucking STUPID!!! It looks like something I created in photoshop. The mask looks like face paint. The costume looks even worst. If the costume looks this stupid I can only imagine what the fight scenes are going to look like. As a woman I would have loved to see Ryan Reynolds in an actual costume because he is a lovely piece of eye candy (I apologize in advance to all my male readers) but this is just crazy, bizarre and beyond stupid. I am not looking forward to this sure to be shitastic movie.

Cool Youtube video rap!!

So I am a YouTuber. I am looking for cool new videos all the time. I found this video from a Youtuber named DeStorm. He gets thousands of views for some of his cool rap videos and this happens to be one of them. He had a challenge to piece together a rap using almost exclusively video game titles. Yeah, it does sound kind of stupid I know but I was really amused with the results. So I am posting it here for you to enjoy! Thoughts?! Leave your comments!

How The Mighty Have Fallen

It really sucks to admit but I have FINALLY been defeated by my boyfriend in a video game. I am no longer invincible to him and it is a crushing blow to me. Here is how it all went down. Yesterday we decided to get some gaming in after a lengthy argument the previous night over my obsessive Modern Warfare 2 playing. We came to a happy agreement and decided to play some Split/Second the next night. Game night arrives and I put my trusty game into the Xbox 360 thinking to myself this is going to be to damn easy because I am way better at this game than my boyfriend. Boy was I wrong!

Jul 1, 2010

I PLAY TO WIN!!!

As I have mentioned in a previous post my boyfriend has yet to beat me in any video game. I am here to say that I am still undefeated! I do have a very interesting update on this. So I recently received the race car game Split Second for the XBOX 360. Split/Seconds core gimmick revolves around a series of environmental traps called power plays that causes your opponents to crash if you time them just right. You can fill your power play meter by drifting around turns, drafting behind opponents, and catching air off jumps. This game is actually pretty fun. It has a lot of replay value with its online multi player mode. So this was a good purchase.

Will NBA Elite 11 be able to compete with NBA 2K11?

I am not fooled by EA's name change of their basketball series. So NBA Live is now NBA Elite. Does this really mean a full upgrade and intervention on their part or is this just a nice name change with an updated font and new packaging? Either way EA is looking to come with the fire to finally compete with NBA 2K11 this year.

No More "Red Rings of Death" for Xbox?

The smaller Xbox 360 250 GB Elite models cannot physically display the "red ring of death," according to a system specification sheet. Why is that, you ask? Because if (when) one of these new consoles experiences technical issues, it will display green lights instead. Sounds like Micorsoft didn't care for the famous nickname that caused an uproar when the Xbox 360 first launched. So a green ring of light will be used to alert us when it's time to phone up Xbox customer support. I wonder who is going to come up with the clever new catch phrase to go along witht the new design choice. Anyone have any cool ideas?!

Reasons E3 2010 Will Be Awesome

Sorry I have been away for so long but I needed a moment. Well, now I am back in all of my glory and I am going to start my relaunch by diving into this year's upcoming E3! As you all should know E3 2010 is almost upon us and in celebration I am listing the reasons why I along with everyone else should be tuning in! E3 will be incredible this year at least that is what I am hoping. E3 is the premiere event for the video game industry with a rush of new games, consoles, trailers, demos, booth babes, and announcements each year. I plan on hyping up something that truly deserves it. I'll be rolling out new picks every so often, so check back frequently, but feel free to share your hopes and dreams below in the comments. By the way this list is in no particular order!

Where do I sign Up?!

I think this is a photoshop project rather than an actual mod, but if it actually existed I would have to have one STAT. DeviantArtist DarkTwist made up this skin for the Wii which makes it over into a far better Nintendo system, the NES. Really, it is kind of sad to see Nintendo come from such a great history and slowly become boring as all hell. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few fun Wii games, but for the most part, the system is flooded with absolutely garbage games, and it lacks the processing power to play any of the “new classics” that populate the PS3 and 360. Pick it up Nintendo, I am counting on you.

Xbox Live Dating is Ridiculous!!

Okay being a female gamer I hear just about every pick line in the book on Xbox Live. Sometimes it's pretty funny I will admit (like the other day a guy said to me “Man you suck at Modern Warfare… so, do you have a boyfriend?” LOL) but mostly it is completely annoying. I get online to play videogames. I am not online looking for my future soulmate.

Ghostbuster Surprise

Now I must tell you I am a HUGE Ghostbusters fan. It is one of those timeless movies from my childhood that stops me in my tracks whenever it is aired on tv. Few movies have this esteemed place in my heart. But I have to tell you that when I saw this all I could do was wish I was there to experience this for myself. I bawled in Laughter at this hilarious pop culture tribute to a classic and I just had to share it.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION DELIVERS

You'd think the lawless atmosphere of the Old West would be the perfect venue for compelling video game action, but oddly, cowboy-themed games are a rare sight. But not this week. Red Dead Redemption, a gritty cowboy thriller from the creators of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, should be in your local game store by now, and it's promising to shoot up the charts with all the enthusiasm its outlaw heroes might normally display for shooting up a saloon. And judging by the rave reviews it's getting, its purchasers are in for a real treat.

So far, Red Dead Redemption, which combines Grand Theft Auto's familiar open-world structure with the atmosphere, script, and cast of a big-budget Clint Eastwood flick, is earning immense praise. It's "one of 2010's best games so far" (G4TV). It's "a truly epic resuscitation of the Western theme in games" (Official Xbox Magazine). It's "one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around" (IGN). Even the New York Times hopped on the bandwagon, calling it "such a convincing, cohesive and enthralling reimagination of the real world that it sets a new standard for sophistication and ambition in electronic gaming." In short, if you're serious about Westerns, this might just be the best game you've ever played.

No More Wasted Micosoft Points?!

How many of you have a small pittance of leftover Microsoft Points from your last Xbox Live Marketplace purchase, putting you in the untenable position of either letting the points go to waste or purchasing a new batch of points in a large increment that will probably only leave you with yet more leftover points after a purchase anyway? Well, good news: That's less likely to happen now. In case you missed it, at some point over the last couple of days Microsoft quietly changed the increments of points they offer for purchase online, with new increments of 400 rather than the old 500. Now, it's $4.99 for 400 points, $9.99 for 800, $19.99 for 1600, and $49.99 for 4000. It's a small change, but one with great importance: Since most items on sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace tend to cost 400, 800, and 1600 points, it means you'll now likely be able to purchase only as many points as you need in order to buy whatever item you're interested in. Well, for the most part -- Rock Band DLC, for instance, still ranges between 160-440 Microsoft Points, so there are still situations where you're likely to end up with an annoying number of leftover points anyway. Nothing's ever perfect.

I MUST HAVE ONE UNDER MY CHRISTMAS TREE!!!

I don't know about you but this is one action figure I MUST have! I know I have passed the point where it is ok to play with action figures but this one is just too AWESOME! I mean who wouldn't want a serial killer of their own. And for the record no, I am not one of those people who has a series of box-wrapped action figures lining their walls as an adult…not that there’s anything wrong with that…I just really think this is awesome, and I would definitely be unboxing it and having it murdering my old X-Men action figures in no time.”These are all the people you’ve hurt Magneto, LOOK AT THEM!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Detailed by Ubisoft

Ubisoft formally announced Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood today, promising a 15 hour single-player campaign on top of a new multiplayer mode. According to a fact sheet released this morning, the single-player mode sees Ezio return as a Master Assassin in "the living, breathing, unpredictable city of Rome," and is estimated to last 15 hours. The brand new multiplayer mode allows players to "choose from multiple authentic character classes, each with their own signature weapons and killing moves." The game will ship during the Holiday season in Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC flavors. While development is lead by Assassin’s Creed studio Ubisoft Montreal, several other internal Ubisoft studios are contributing to the title, including the Annecy office, which developed the multiplayer in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The official announcement is available from Ubisoft.

If you walked down the street in this hoodie alot of people would not get the reference. But I assure you the ones that do will think that you are AWESOME. It's best to rock this look with the hood up for full effect. It's a Mega Man Hoodie PEOPLE!! However, that does not mean I don’t want one, because it is crazy awesome, but sadly its only a concept piece from somone at, you guessed it, DeviantArt. I seriously think that DeviantArt should open up brick and mortar stores filled with poster prints from the best artists and statues and clothing crafted by its members. Jet Set Radio Coming to Xbox Live Arcade?

Someone named "Xbox360 Leaker" dropped a screenshot of a French-language Xbox Live Marketplace that shows the Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio available as a demo. The picture, of unknown provenance, adds weight to rumors that other Dreamcast classics are inbound. Jet Set Radio was the game's Japanese name (Jet Grind Radio was its name in North America), but one would have to figure that if they're going to take it this far, this game would include the additional content from Jet Grind and De La Jet Set Radio Nothing's confirmed, but it should definitely whet the appetites of Dreamcast fans, of which there are many. I for one would love to see an influx of several Dreamcast titles that were some of my favorite games. This tibbit of news got me to thinking...What Dreamcast games would I like to see available on Xbox Live Marketplace? Well then I will tell you:
