Villains for new Batman Movie Revealed!!

After much speculation it is finally revealed who our villains will be in the next Batman installment (The Dark Knight Rises). The third film being directed by the brilliant Christopher Nolan has seen countless names attached to it. We have heard names of the who's who in Hollywood such as: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Johnny Depp, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Cher, Eddie Murphy, Rachel Weisz, Miley Cyrus, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.The huge success of The Dark Knight surely lead to the feeding frenzy of wanting to know who was going to be cast in what role but I have to tell you that I did not see this coming...


So here it is folks! The first villian that will be featured in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises is no other than Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman.  Who is going to be playing this iconic character you might ask. Well I will tell you. Selina Kyle will be played by the beautiful Anne Hathaway. You know her from such films as The Princess Diaries 1&2, The Devil Wears Prada and Brokeback Mountain just to name a few. It is reported that she beat out the likes of Jessica Biel and Kiera Knightley for the coveted role. I must note that the Warner Bros official release NEVER says the word "Catwoman" so I may be jumping the gun and by labeling her a villain. It is much more likely that Hathaway will be playing Selina before she turns into Catwoman for the next installment. So who knows?

On to who I know is playing a villain for sure and that is BANE! That;s right you read correctly. He will be played by Tom Hardy. You recently saw Hardy in Nolan's great film Inception that made major bank last year. Bane has been one of Batman's most intelligent and physically powerful foes. He is best known for breaking Batman's back in the "Knightfall" story arc. So it is easy to say that I am really excited about this development especially after so much talk about the villain possibly being The Riddler I totally did not see this one coming.


On a sad note it is reported that this is going to be the last Batman film directed by Christopher Nolan. I could only hope that if this franchise is to continue which I am sure it is I could only pray that Warner Bros will find a worthy replacement that will respect the tone and care that Nolan put into each of the films in his trilogy. Those are going to be some HUGE shoes to fill and I do not envy any director that gets that job because everyone and I mean EVERYONE is going to be waiting for the new director to make a mistake so that they can rip him apart.The Dark Knight Rises will be hitting theaters June 2012!
