Xbox Live Update Sticks it to Hackers!

Microsoft released a mandatory update to the Xbox 360 this morning via Xbox LIVE that brings back a boot-up option that was previously taken away. But what you may not know is that it is really messing with all the hackers out there that love to make online gaming a pain in the ass!

On MajorNelson.com it is stated that the update released this morning gives owners the option to boot straight to a game if you have a game disk in your Xbox 360.  The other option is to boot straight to the dashboard which I didn't even realize was no longer an option since I always opt to boot straight to the dashboard.
However, here is the bad news for all those hackers out there. The update is blocking hackers and pirates from taking their games online.  Everyone with modded consoles are unable to play "backup copies" of popular games on their modded Xbox 360s like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Halo: Reach.

Playstation 3's security was breached and games like Modern Warfare 2 were overrun with hacks, this is FANTASTIC news for the Xbox 360 community. Especially good news for me because I have been known to throw my controller in frustration over all the hackers that can't seem to earn any of the ranks the right way! So the battle is on with Microsoft taking a major strike at the hackers of the world. So the ball is in the hackers court to come up with their next move which will not be long I am sure of that.

Microsoft also took the time making a small udpate to player's Xbox LIVE Gamercard.  They changed the look and removed the "gamer zone" . You can see the new card over at MajorNelson.com.
