Sony's Next handheld system the NPG!!

Sony is talking about their next handheld console codenamed NPG. It will be compatible with the PlayStation Suite and is backwards-compatible with downloadable PSP games and content from Sony's PlayStation Store.

Specs include a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, dual analog sticks (not nubs as on the current generation), 3G, WiFi, GPS, a rear-mounted touchpad, the same accelerometer / gyroscope motion sensing as in the PlayStation Move, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and back. There is also a good chance that these bad boys will be available by the end of the year.

Games will come on "new media," not UMD anymore. There is a dual analog stick combo on a portable device, and the pixel count is way more than the original PSP. I must note that I haven't heard any mention of flash memory so I guess only time will tell on that one. I for one am concerned about the price. With those specs and after watching the trailer I have no idea what to expect as far as cost. I do however know that I plan on having one because it looks and sounds FANTASTIC!

Some of the publishers confirmed for making games for the NPG are  Epic Games, Ubisoft, Rockstar, Capcom, Square Enix, 2k Games, Sega, Codemasters and Activision. The hardware will be complemented with titles like a BRAND NEW Call of Duty, Killzone and Uncharted!

Here is a list of some of the games slated to hit the NGP when it releases by the end of the year.
  • Uncharted
  • Resistance
  • Killzone
  • Call of Duty
  • Monster Hunter Portable 3
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • WipEout
  • Dynasty Warriors
  • Reality Fighters
  • Gravity Daze
  • Little Deviants
  • Smart As
  • Broken
  • Hot Shots Golf

This is sure to be exciting and a must have for a lot of people during the holiday season. Are you getting one? Leave your comments.
